Apple, the red panda, was in a bamboo forest in China 2011. Apple was munching on a stalk of bamboo when she heard a noise. An unnatural crashing sound and an acid tang lay in the air. Apple dropped her stalk in the confusion and looked warily towards the noise, ears pricked up in alertness.
All of a sudden two burly men in thick suits crashed through the forest holding a long gun clinging to their sides. Apple soon realized she would have to run for her life. They immediately saw Apple, but it was too late. She had hopped through the trees. The hunters immediately took fire, missing ever so slightly. As Apple crashed through the treetops, she was getting weary. She didn’t hear any loud noises so she crawled down into a small dip in the land.
She heard the hunters crashing through the forest and devised a plan. Apple decided she is going to trick them. She raced towards the bog and hopped and hopped into a tree to watch. The hunters follow her trail until it stopped toward the quicksand, but the hunters didn’t realize it was quicksand. They chattered madly at each other as they drop their guns on the ground. The tallest hunter saw Apple. Apple made a quick decision and leaped on the hunter’s unprotected face, raking it and sinking her teeth in as hard as she can. The smaller of the two hunters grabbed his gun and fired at Apple.
For Apple, everything seems to be going in slow motion as he fires. The breath is knocked out of her as the bullet smacked her side and she falls into the quicksand. Everything around her gets darker and blurrier until she sinks into nothingness. Apple is dead.
